Role Summary Seeking a highly organized, detail‑oriented, and analytical Project Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various projects, ensuring our projects remain competitive and profitable. This role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive estimates and prepare proposals for clients.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Analyze and evaluate: review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine labor, material, and time requirements.
Estimate costs: compute and prepare detailed cost estimates for proposed projects, including all associated expenses.
Communicate and present: present cost projections and project estimates to management, clients, and other stakeholders in a clear and polite manner.
Monitor budgets: ensure project budgets are maintained and help identify any discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
Suggest cost‑saving options: recommend cost‑reduction strategies when possible.
Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate with project staff to meet proposal targets and milestones.
Submit project deliverables to client as per contract scope and schedule.
Develop understanding and be aware of project‑related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
Responsible for providing consistent quality standards on proposal delivery. Engage APRs on projects at their onset.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline – engineering, environmental science, or geology – and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
