Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Jail – Wellpath
Join your chance to make a difference in the lives of the underserved. Wellpath’s LPNs provide compassionate care to individuals in a correctional setting, working under RN supervision to assess, plan, and implement treatments.
Schedule: 0.9 FTE, 3 shifts weekly (0630–1900), rotating weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
Under RN supervision, assess patients’ physical, psychological, and social dimensions in both the Health Care Unit and housing units, contributing to individualized treatment planning.
Implement treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, including medication administration, IV therapy (if certified), and diagnostic tests according to established protocols.
Collaborate in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift, adhering to safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions.
Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures, implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and document nursing encounters using SOAP charting.
Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience:
Prefer a minimum of one (1) year of clinic experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment; must obtain and maintain CPR certification.
