Providing mental health support and counseling services within a K-12 school environment requires a dedicated and skilled professional. This role offers the opportunity to deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions that promote student well‑being and positive behavioral outcomes.

Responsibilities

Deliver individual and group mental health counseling to students, utilizing evidence‑based practices.

Apply verbal de‑escalation techniques (TEACH) to manage aggressive or crisis situations effectively.

Prepare sections of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including data collection and progress monitoring.

Collaborate closely with classroom teams, including teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.

Conduct comprehensive mental health appraisals covering psycho/social/behavioral functioning.

Develop and implement remediation plans grounded in research‑based educational and therapeutic approaches.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling is required; psychologists will not be considered.

Florida Department of Education Certification in social work, or licensure as a clinical social worker or licensed mental health provider under Chapter 491, F.S.

Alternatively, candidates with a Masters degree must register as a Mental Health Counselor Intern within six months of hire, receive supervision from a Qualified Supervisor, and achieve clinical licensure within three years.

Minimum two years of experience working with children and parents in mental health settings.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary school team.

Location and Assignment Details

Position located in Naples, Florida, serving schools within the Collier County Public Schools district.

Contract duration: January 5, 2026, to May 28, 2026.

Full‑time commitment: 35 hours per week (7 hours daily).

Assignments may vary among multiple schools.

On‑site work required; remote options are not available.
