Purpose and summary statement: Generates Profitable sales in the assigned territory through target marketing, competitive analysis, and providing value-added feed products, services, and recommendations.
Essential Job Functions
Develops and implements marketing plans and sales strategies that generate profitable sales in the assigned territory.
Utilizes target marketing and professional sales techniques including the FS sales interview road map, feed management programs, emphasis on appropriate features and benefits, and contact management system when calling on patrons and prospects.
Develops territory and competitive analysis to maintain a current knowledge of the marketplace and the competition.
Provides value-added feed products, services, and recommendations to patrons and prospects.
Schedules product delivery to customer locations, makes deliveries as needed, and assists with coordination of feed mills, inventories, and routes.
Conducts regular patron meetings on product and technical information.
Provides customer service by following up on customer complaints and seeking a reasonable “win/win” resolution.
Ensures the creditworthiness of customers, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
Promotes the use of credit programs as a sales tool and helps provide the required information to establish credit.
Works closely with the credit department in collection of accounts receivable.
Other Job Functions
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
College degree in agriculture, marketing, or other business related discipline, or equivalent.
At least 2 years of sales/marketing experience to demonstrate the ability to generate profitable sales in the assigned territory.
Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
Enterprise Specialist certification or ability to obtain/maintain one to demonstrate advanced feed sales training and experience.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
