Position Summary The Department of Radiology and Imaging at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, Georgia's premier Health Sciences University, is recruiting for a full-time faculty member at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor as a Breast Imager. This faculty member will be committed to patient care, education and scholarly activity. This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.

Responsibilities

Interpret screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI.

Perform image-guided breast procedures (stereotactic, ultrasound‑, and MRI‑guided biopsies and localizations).

Work within a multidisciplinary breast center and participate in tumor boards and case conferences.

Teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students.

Required Qualifications

Doctorate degree (PhD, DNP, DNAP or equivalent). Active license to practice in the state of Georgia or meet all eligibility requirements. Board-certified or eligible in Diagnostic Radiology. Fellowship training in Breast Imaging.

Instructor: A medical professional in training who holds a medical degree and has completed residency training who will contribute to teaching, student support, and the clinical mission of the institution.

Assistant Professor: Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.

Associate Professor: Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Professor: Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:

Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;

Evidence of ability as a teacher;

Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;

Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,

Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.

Shift/Salary/Benefits This position is fiscal year based and works year‑round. The intended work commitment or full‑time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full‑time. Salaries for each rank are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and are subject to availability of funds. Advancement through the faculty ranks is only through the annual promotion and tenure process in which faculty may apply if eligible (typically five‑year increments). College/Department Information The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 304 students per class.
