Circulating Registered Nurse RN OR Operating Room Banner Health is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team at Banner University Medical Center South, Tucson, Arizona.

Compensation & Benefits

$10,000 sign-on bonus for external experienced OR RNs!

Full-time position, Day shift. Hours per week: 40 (4x10). Schedule: varied. Weekend and holiday rotations may be required.

Flat rate $5/hr for call, $3/hr weekend shift differential, and 18% night shift differential when applicable.

Optimized operations within an Academic Medical Center that includes Emergency, Trauma, and Behavioral Health services.

Position Summary This role assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care for patients in the operating room, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and nursing practice standards.

Core Functions

Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs; reviews history and diagnostics; reports abnormal results.

Formulates a comprehensive plan of care including discharge planning, based on assessment data and interdisciplinary input.

Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health‑care team activities.

Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed.

Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record.

Provides evidence‑based care and participates in research, unit or facility leadership, education, and mentoring activities.

Contributes to quality improvement and national nursing indicators, and participates in professional organizations.

Supervises staff and workflow in some roles.

Interacts with all levels of staff, patients, families, and external contacts, including community providers and agencies; works with clergy for spiritual support.

Minimum Qualifications

Current valid RN license in state of practice (or compact license), BLS certification required.

At least 1 year of acute‑care experience in a hospital setting, with the last 12 months as a registered nurse within the specialty area.

Prior OR circulating experience and completion of Periop 101 preferred.

For new graduates ( Valid driver’s license and auto insurance coverage required for Home Health positions (not applicable here).

Fingerprint clearance card and criminal history affidavit as applicable for certain behavioral health roles.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Professional certification preferred.
