Adult Protective Services Specialist I/II (4663119)
Job Location:
8501 Lucas and Hunt Road, 2nd floor, Jennings, MO 63136.
Shelter, support and investigate cases of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of elders (age 60+) and adults with disabilities (age 18+) to protect Missouri’s most vulnerable citizens.
Responsibilities:
Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (age 60+) and disabled (ages 18+).
Conduct home visits to observe surroundings, and interview victims and caregivers.
Coordinate interventions and ongoing protective services needs.
Participate in an on‑call rotation with team members.
Travel within the local multi‑county area to conduct home visits, attend hearings and training sessions, using personal vehicle when necessary; minimal overnight travel required.
Communicate clearly and perform interviews with high level of professionalism.
Work independently while collaborating within a team environment.
Display resilience, critical thinking, and innovative problem‑solving skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or an RN licensed and in good standing, or an LPN licensed and in good standing with 1+ year experience (or equivalent experience).
For the APS Specialist II position, one or more years of experience in Adult Protective Services or related human services fields.
