Job Summary
The Nurse Exploration Program is a 12-month individualized program with dedicated mentors and preceptors, designed specifically for new graduate nurses. Graduate nurses will build a solid foundation in nursing while working on the R3S Medical Unit at Reading Hospital. Toward the end of the program, nurses will have the opportunity to shadow on three different specialty units to help optimize their career path.
Delivers excellent nursing care through evaluations, planning, implementation, and documentation while serving a diverse patient population with complex concerns.
Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self‑care skills.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Unit Overview R3S‑Medical Unit: 36 bed medical unit serving adults with varying medical needs such as sepsis, cellulitis, gastrointestinal bleed, pneumonia, diabetic complications, urinary tract infection and other general medical needs. R3S works as a collaborative team to care for our patients to provide the best possible outcomes while maintaining patient’s preference. The unit care team on R3S, among others who care for the patients, is comprised of RN, patient care assistant, care manager, respiratory care, clinical nurse specialists and providers.
Qualifications Education Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
Certification and Licensure
PA Registered Nurse Temporary Practice Permit or Registered Nurse License
