Full-Time, 40 hours/week; Base rate of $20.00 per hour; 41 paid days off per year. About the Organization
Augusta University is Georgia's innovation center for education and health care, training the next generation of innovators, leaders, and healthcare provider. Established in 2017, the Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services was established through a unique collaboration between Augusta University Health System and the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice with the goal of delivering high-quality health services to the state of Georgia’s justice-involved youth in 25 facilities. Required Qualifications
High school diploma with two years of experience and one of the following certifications: AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistant), CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant), MedCa (Medical Career Assessment), NCMA (National Certified Medical Assistant), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant). Ability to maintain confidentiality. Detail-oriented. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Additional Preferred Qualifications
3 or more years previous experience in a clinical setting and correctional clinical experience. Experience with electronic medical record is preferred. Bi-lingual a plus. Responsibilities
Provides support to the physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or other providers as needed; evaluates and prepares patients to be seen by providers. Patient triage to include taking vital signs, recording of patient interview/complaints and prepares the patient for exams/procedures as needed. Process lab requests including venipuncture; performs routine screening tests, EKGs, nebulizer treatments and changing dressings as ordered. Preparation and administration of medications as prescribed; notes times and amounts on patient records. Entering clinical data into the electronic medical record and maintaining accurate and complete documentation in the patient record. Assists with administrative clerical duties, answering phones and scheduling appointments as needed. Seniority Level
