Opportunity Travel Pediatric Respiratory Therapist II – $2,281 per week
Job Details
Demonstrate advanced knowledge in respiratory care and assigned patient care areas.
Administer competent care through airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy.
Perform respiratory care procedures and treatments to assess, prevent, stabilize or remedy respiratory dysfunction.
Provide standard respiratory care including aerosol medication delivery, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, breathing exercises, and arterial punctures.
Manage all aspects of airway management including aspiration, tracheostomy care, tube changes, endotracheal intubations and extubations.
Handle Carolina Air Care responsibilities by transporting pediatric and neonatal patients from referral hospitals per UNC Air Care Protocol.
Perform advanced practice procedures including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, ABGs, and blood glucose monitoring.
ECMO management for extracorporeal circulation providing cardiac and respiratory support.
Work with NICU, PICU, and other critical care units.
May be required to be on‑call days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Perform comprehensive ventilator care including setup, verification, and specialized ventilator modes.
Provide appropriate patient monitoring and weaning techniques.
Function independently with minimal supervision and serve as a resource to other staff.
Qualifications
Two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required.
Current RRT certification by NBRC required.
Must maintain at least one of: ACLS, NRP, PALS, CPFT, or an advanced practice certificate for moderate sedation.
Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program required.
Temp to perm position with local candidates reviewed first.
