Mechanical Technician
We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team working on cutting‑edge spacecraft propulsion systems. This role involves hands‑on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of flight hardware for satellites and CubeSats. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with electrical and mechanical assemblies, and a passion for space systems. You will work closely with engineers to build, inspect, and test spacecraft components, supporting environmental testing campaigns and propulsion module integration.
Responsibilities
Assemble spacecraft hardware and perform soldering and PCB inspections
Build and test wire harnesses and connectors to specifications
Operate torque wrenches and precision tools to meet product requirements
Install project‑specific sensors (e.g., thermistors, accelerometers)
Conduct component and assembly testing, including environmental campaigns
Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware issues in collaboration with engineers
Document processes and follow detailed build instructions for electrical/mechanical assemblies
Support propulsion module and spacecraft testing activities
Qualifications
2–10 years of experience in mechanical/electrical assembly or aerospace hardware
Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to read and follow drawings and written instructions
Experience with soldering, crimping, and harness fabrication
Familiarity with electronics testing and board repair Ability to use precision measuring tools
Good written and verbal communication skills
Nice‑to‑Have
Experience with CAD software, Visio, and Excel
NASA certifications for soldering, crimping, and harness assembly
Experience with vacuum chambers and environmental testing
Knowledge of fabrication, testing, and non‑conformance resolution
