A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Hai Huang in the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, and Brain Institute at Tulane University. The aim is to understand the synaptic, neuronal and circuit mechanisms that support reliable and precise auditory information processing and how hearing loss and neurological disorders affect synaptic, neuronal and circuit function, using a combination of techniques, including ex vivo and in vivo electrophysiology, two-photon imaging, computational modeling, molecular biology, and animal models.
The successful candidates should have a strong background in neuroscience and experience with electrophysiology. The position is funded by NIH grant and salary will follow guidelines set by NIH and Tulane. The postdoctoral fellow will conduct studies of cellular neurophysiology in the auditory system.
