Responsibilities Loan Origination & Credit Analysis
Originate commercial loans
Refer and cross-sell deposit products, Treasury Management services and other credit union products and services
Analyze financial information and credit applications to determine credit potential
Negotiate credit terms within the credit union's loan policies
Prepare credit opportunity memoranda
Present loans for approval to the proper approval authority
Voting member of Business Loan Committee
Assist members regarding existing loans, financial requests, financing terms and guidelines
Business Development & Relationship Management
Support branch commercial activities
Provide resources and make recommendations that meet business members' needs
Network and prospect for new business members through attendance at and involvement in business and community events
Represent Member Business Services at Chamber of Commerce and other business events
Portfolio & Risk Management
Resolve members' problems
Collect on-going member financial data
Monitor performance of individual loan portfolio to maintain and improve the quality
Maintain credit files
Monitor and grow deposits
Market/ Industry Awareness & Professional Development
Lead/Participate in departmental and cross-functional projects
Monitor market indicators and competition
Stay abreast of industry, market and regulatory changes
Develop new marketing materials that cover business products and services including regulatory requirements
Take ownership of personal development by participating in ongoing training, seeking feedback, and building knowledge and skills relevant to role, department, compliance, and credit union’s mission.
Qualifications
Proven success in commercial lending within financial services.
Strong relationship-building, networking, and communication skills to cultivate and maintain long-term business member partnerships.
Excellent presentation, public speaking, and interpersonal communication abilities to effectively engage with business members, community organizations, and internal partners.
Ability to review and analyze complex business and personal financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow reports to determine creditworthiness and loan structure.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to make sound, timely credit and business judgments.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strategic thinker with solid planning and time-management abilities to support business growth initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with CRM systems and loan tracking tools.
Strong computer literacy and ability to adapt to new technology platforms.
Professional demeanor and sound judgment when representing the credit union in business and community settings.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage frequent interruptions while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with employees, members, vendors and company contacts.
