Responsibilities
Conduct microbiological, chemical, and physical testing on raw materials, finished products, and mixes.
Perform specialized testing including FOSS FT-120, CEM analysis, and plating for SPC, Coliform, yeast, and mold.
Record, analyze, and report test results, promptly addressing deviations or non-conformities.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring schedules are followed.
Assist in investigations related to product quality or process deviations.
Follow sanitary procedures and food processing quality control methodologies.
Standardize mixes and collect line samples to ensure consistency and compliance.
Collaborate with production and quality teams to support product safety and continuous improvement.
Assist in developing and validating new testing methods and procedures.
Adhere to GMP, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
Perform multiple tasks simultaneously, including lifting up to 50-pound dairy cases or boxes, and working long hours on feet.
Accomplish other duties as assigned to support laboratory and production operations.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related scientific discipline preferred.
Alternatively, a high school diploma or 2-year college studies in microbiology, chemistry, or lab sciences with 1–2 years of laboratory or quality assurance experience in dairy, aseptic manufacturing, food manufacturing, or related industry.
Experience with microbiological and chemical testing methods required.
Familiarity with food safety and quality standards including SQF, HACCP, and GMP.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with ability to form sound conclusions and initiate corrective actions.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as pipetting, wet chemistry, titration, and using equipment like HPLC.
Experience in quality control and assurance in a manufacturing environment.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43,160.00 - $43,160.00/yr. Company offers pro-rated PTO and personal time, paid holidays, and additional compensation for working holidays. Health Benefits, Dental Vision, 401k.
Workplace Type Fully onsite position in Richmond, IN.
