Job Description

Davis Behavioral Health is seeking a part‑time Office Specialist – Front Desk to provide coverage at the front desk and complete daily office support functions in its outpatient clinic located in Clearfield, Utah.

Essential Job Duties

Work at the receptionist desk checking in clients for appointments, answering phone calls, and providing excellent customer service to clients, co‑workers, and community partners.

Provide backup coverage for the front desk staff in the outpatient clinic for vacations, sick time, and other leave; required to be flexible and cross‑trained.

Clinic open Monday‑Thursday 9:00 am–8:00 pm; Friday 9:00 am–8:00 pm. When called in for backup coverage during the daily reminder call time, calls will be made from the clinic instead of from home.

Schedule & Location

Monday through Friday 7:45 AM–1:30 PM. End time may fluctuate 10–15 minutes on occasion to meet clinic needs.

Outpatient clinic located at 952 S. Main St, Layton, Utah 84041.

Compensation & Classification

The starting wage is $18.25 per hour. This position is classified as regular part‑time, non‑exempt, with hours not exceeding 29 per week. A Spanish‑language incentive stipend is available; the candidate must pass a Spanish assessment.

Responsibilities include answering telephones, routing calls, scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointments; greeting walk‑in clients; referring clients to appropriate staff; accepting payments; data entry; processing and maintaining a variety of records, filing, typing, distributing mail; completing end‑of‑day receipts; and performing other tasks as assigned. The successful applicant must be flexible and willing to perform some intake work, records work, and other office duties.

Required Experience

Be at least 18 years old.

Have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Possess strong verbal communication skills.

Have demonstrated professional customer service experience.

Demonstrate compassion, courtesy, and respect to all clients and their families.

Have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to establish immediate rapport with clients.

Desired Skills

Computer knowledge, including keyboarding (typing) skills.

Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other computer programs.

Previous experience working in a medical office and/or familiarity with medical terminology preferred.

Experience with business office equipment (credit card machines, fax machines, printers, etc.) preferred.
