Job Description Are you an HVAC professional who’s ready to be a part of an exceptional team?

Our HVAC/Energy Management Systems Tech II serves within the Facilities division in Columbia. The role will perform complex technical work in the installation, operation, and maintenance of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems (HVAC) and/or the maintenance of building automated energy management systems (EMS). The ideal candidate will have expertise in building automation systems, troubleshooting digital control, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment maintenance, and repair. The selected individual should be able to analyze equipment, recommend improvements for better operation and energy savings, and troubleshoot complex electrical circuits. This person will be responsible for acknowledging and resolving work request tickets. Position requires travel to areas of the state with construction and trades team members to meet with different office managers to perform building maintenance and repair projects.

Key Responsibilities

Perform HVAC construction tasks as per plans or drawings.

Add ducts, diffusers, vents, and troffers to existing mechanical systems.

Meet with subcontractors for projects outside in-house time constraints.

Communicate the exact scope of work that needs to be completed so contractors provide accurate bids.

Work directly on building maintenance related to heating and cooling aspects.

Maintain HVAC units and systems, including filter changes, charging systems, and replacement of old inoperable parts.

Monitor direct digital control system, runs diagnostics, responds to system alarms, investigates, and repairs technology problems.

Use Energy Management System (EMS) data to determine equipment functioning.

Prepare reports and documents for management review.

Install, clean, and maintain HVAC and Refrigeration systems.

Inspect and test HVAC and Refrigeration systems and components.

Discuss malfunctions with users and recommend maintenance to improve system performance.

Education and Experience High school diploma and six (6) years of experience in the HVAC trade construction industry.

Additional Requirements Knowledge of operating building automation systems. Knowledge of troubleshooting direct digital control. Knowledge of the practices, methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Ability to analyze building heating and air conditioning equipment and recommend modifications to achieve better operation and energy savings. Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical control circuits.

Basic computer skills and ability to learn provided technology and smart phones. Ability to use judgment and initiative to complete routine work without constant supervision. Ability to organize, prioritize, plan and complete work.
