Polymer Compounding Production Technician
Base pay range: $19.00/hr - $23.00/hr

A day in this role Your shift begins at 6:45 AM (or PM). You review the job order, confirm item and lot numbers, verify quantities, set up blends, keep the extruder running within spec, and document production data. You maintain a clean workspace, monitor safety, troubleshoot machine issues, and may operate a fork truck to move materials. You finish by updating digital training modules and handing off to the next operator.
Schedule
Seven (7) workdays every two weeks: Week 1 (Sun, Wed, Thu); Week 2 (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat)
Twelve (12) hour shifts: Day Shift 6:45 AM–7:00 PM; Night Shift 6:45 PM–7:00 AM
Built‑in overtime includes Sundays and all hours over 40 each week
Voluntary overtime available
What you’ll bring
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Accuracy verifying manufacturing identifiers (item and lot numbers, quantities)
Clear, legible documentation on required production paperwork
Commitment to a clean, organized work environment
Safety‑first mindset for yourself and your team
Basic computer skills for ongoing computer‑based training
Must be 18 years of age or older to work at Teknor Apex
Preferred experience
Blending operations and extruder operation
Troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
Leadership capabilities
Safe fork truck operation
Physical demands
Lift up to 55 lbs.
Stand for prolonged periods
Regularly climb, bend, and stretch
