Job Summary The Extruder Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the entire extruding machine, which includes determining proper material inputs per specification, setting up the machine to run proper heat profiles, machine speeds, monitoring running parameters, and correctly adjusting settings as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
1‑2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
Must be able to work well with others.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Locate materials that will be used and load into hopper to keep machine running.
Pick up purge materials and deposit them in boxes or gaylords.
Keep the Extruder area clean and empty trash cans when full.
Help the Maintenance Team and Supervisor with machine service or PMs when needed.
Remove boxes from the scales when they are full, put a new clean one with liner, and record the weight on the production sheet.
Trace machine productivity, monitor for downtime, and assist Maintenance Team in troubleshooting.
Fill out the traceability form at the end of the shift every day.
Take instruction from the Supervisor or Wellmark Managers.
Clean and visually inspect the machine at the beginning of shift.
Set up machine with different products – heat profiles, pressure settings, extruder speed, pelletizer speed, and water flow.
