Job Summary We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented
Admissions Coordinator
to join our Admissions team at The Richardson School. This highly visible role serves as the first point of contact for students, families, school districts, counties, and referral sources seeking admission to TRS programs. The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for guiding the full admissions and transition process, ensuring accurate documentation, coordinating funding and billing information, and collaborating closely with administrative leadership and internal departments to support successful student placement and transitions. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in education or human services who excel in communication, organization, and relationship management.
Key Responsibilities Admissions & Intake Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for all admissions inquiries and referrals.
Gather, review, and assess admissions documentation to support accurate evaluation of student needs and program fit.
Complete pre‑admission assessments in alignment with licensing requirements and program statements.
Ensure admission packets and required paperwork are complete, accurate, and properly signed.
Funding & Billing Coordination
Assess ability to pay during the pre‑admission process and collaborate with placing agents to secure funding prior to placement.
Partner with the Business Office to submit accurate funding and billing information, including county funding for respite and camp programs.
Consult with administrative leadership on unusual or complex funding situations.
Admission & Transition Planning
Present prospective students to the TRS Administrative Team, including summaries of needs, circumstances, and recommended supports.
Coordinate admission dates and provide written pre‑authorization and intake documentation.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee day‑of‑admission activities to ensure a smooth, trauma‑informed transition for students.
Collaborate with TRS staff, districts, and counties on transition planning, student progress updates, and coordination of services as requested or contracted.
Relationship Management & Community Engagement
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with school districts, counties, referral sources, families, and community partners.
Represent TRS at conferences, community events, and professional meetings.
Prepare and deliver presentations and respond to questions promoting TRS programs and services.
Act as an ambassador for TRS in public and professional settings.
Compliance & Professional Standards
Operate within all legal, licensing, educational, and professional standards.
Comply with organizational policies, procedures, confidentiality requirements, and employee handbook expectations.
Report suspected abuse or neglect in accordance with policy and legal requirements.
Schedule
Full‑time, exempt position – hybrid
Primarily daytime hours with flexibility to meet admissions, travel, and event needs

Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; preferred in education, human services, marketing, communications, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an education or human services setting preferred.
Knowledge of educational systems and admissions procedures strongly desired.
Required Skills & Attributes
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of professionalism.
Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to remain calm, composed, and effective in stressful situations.
Comfort with public speaking and presenting to groups.
Additional Requirements
Must possess a valid
Driver's License
and have an acceptable driving record.
Ability to travel to school districts, meetings, conferences, and community events as needed.
