At NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, our Speech-Language Pathologists help adult patients experiencing serious impairments to connect with the world around them. Our team provides the expertise patients need to flourish in swallowing and communication. Now, you can become one of the people who make it possible.

Under the supervision of the Manager of Speech-Language Pathology, you will work with adult and geriatric patients from the most acutely ill in our ICU/acute care units, the inpatient rehabilitation unit, to the outpatient setting. This position will be at the Milstein and Allen Hospital location.

This is a per-diem position for both weekdays and weekends.

You must have some weekday availability and flexibility to work weekends – a minimum of 2 days per month, and covering two holidays.

Preferred Criteria

Experience assessing and treating medically complex adult patients, including ICU-level patients.

Experience providing communication and dysphagia intervention for patients with tracheostomy.

Competency performing Modified Barium Swallow Study and/or Flexible Endoscopy of Swallowing.

Required Criteria

Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language-Pathology Association.

New York State Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Adult experience in inpatient hospital setting.

Experience in dysphagia evaluation/treatment.

Salary Range $73.50 per hour

All roles require on-site presence. Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
