Unit Assistant, Womens Health and Birth Center
Fairview Range in Hibbing, MN is looking for a compassionate Unit Nursing Assistant/Ward Clerk to join our Women’s Health and Birth Center (WHBC).
Base pay range:
$18.73/hr – $24.84/hr
Schedule:
Part‑time, 48–60 hours per two weeks, 12‑hour day/night shifts and every third weekend.
About the unit:
WHBC offers private suites, 10 beds (including 4 labor & delivery suites), more than 300 baby deliveries annually, and staff trained in labor & delivery, postpartum, and lactation support.
Responsibilities / Job Description:
Perform delegated nursing functions to assigned patients including personal cares, ambulation, exercise, nutrition, specimen collection, and vital signs.
Perform newborn screens and document results in EMR.
Perform receptionist functions and clerical responsibilities.
Act as a nursing assistant and health unit coordinator: patient cares, vitals, bathing, feeding, answering call lights, transporting, maintaining environment, use of equipment, phones, transcription, and coordinate communication flow on the unit.
Required Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant course.
Current BLS certification or attend BLS class within 3 months of employment and maintain certification.
Current BCS or acquire within three months of employment and maintain certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of work performing similar job responsibilities.
