The schedule for this position will be Monday–Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm. The appointment is anticipated to last through the Spring semester, ending May 2, 2026.

Scope of Practice

Deliver therapeutic massage treatments tailored to individual needs

Apply a variety of massage techniques to address musculoskeletal concerns, relaxation, and injury recovery

Educate clients on self‑care practices and wellness strategies

Collaborate with other Medical Services and Orthopedic and Integrative care providers to ensure integrated support

Who We Are The Medical Services staff understand and are committed to the unique health concerns of our student population, making us an unparalleled source of advocacy for student wellness. The Medical Clinic provides a wide range of health care services for students including primary care for illnesses and injuries, chronic conditions, physicals, STI testing and treatment, allergy shots, vaccinations, travel health care, and concussion care.

Key Responsibilities

Perform massage therapist evaluations and treatments through soft tissue manipulation while maintaining a safe and relaxing experience

Educate patients on present condition(s) and teach preventative aspects of self‑care to facilitate and maintain a higher level of wellness

Complete accurate and timely EHR documentation and charges for all patients

Communicate, collaborate, and refer to other health care providers (internal and external)

Apply universal precautions with patient care

Provide exceptional massage therapy and patient service

Maintain awareness of time management

Participate in Health & Well‑Being community activities

Attend Medical Services department meetings

Additional Duties

Attend and participate in departmental and organizational meetings

Assist with ancillary projects and outreach events to promote health and wellness services

Support the mission of CU Boulder Health and Well‑Being Services through community engagement and collaboration

What You Should Know

The Massage Therapist provider will hold a temporary appointment for the Spring Semester to assess demand, with potential transition to a permanent role based on demonstrated need

Workdays: Monday–Friday based on need and availability

Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (aligned with Medical Services’ standard hours)

Calendar: Schedule follows the official university academic calendar, including holidays and breaks

Length of appointment: Spring semester with a break during summer; potential resume in Fall semester as a permanent staff position

This arrangement provides consistent availability twice per week while allowing flexibility for future expansion should demand warrant a permanent position

Eligible for clinical privileges as determined by Medical Services Credentialing & Privileging

What We Can Offer Pay range: $25.00 – $33.00 per hour.

Benefits Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits‑eligible, however all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require

Graduate from an accredited Massage Therapy program

Massage therapist license in the State of Colorado

Clinical experience required in a professional setting (internship, private practice, massage establishment, spa, medical or integrative facility)

Basic Life Support/CPR Certificate within 3 months of hire (training provided if needed)

What You Will Need

Position requires basic functional computer skills (experience with Windows based system)

Proven communication, customer service, and problem‑solving skills

What We Would Like You To Have

Previous EHR experience

Experience in communicating and working with staff and students in an academic environment
