Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Details
Location: Leonardtown, Maryland 20650
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: November 17, 2025 – End: February 16, 2026)
Healthcare Setting: Adult Med/Surg Telemetry Unit
Shift: Nights, 3×12‑hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks per contract)
Patient Ratio: 1:5
Unit Size: 44 beds, average daily census of 30
Scrubs: Caribbean Blue (not provided)
Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,590–$1,710
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
Active Compact Registered Nurse license or Maryland RN license
BLS certification required
ACLS certification preferred
Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
Two supervisor references required
Accepts first‑time travel nurses
Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality nursing care to adult patients in a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit
Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias
Care for patients with conditions such as diabetes, CHF, infection, sepsis, COPD, sickle cell crisis, GI bleed, diverticulitis, and post‑surgical recovery
Utilize clinical equipment including patient lifts, CADD pumps, chest tubes, telemetry monitoring, and capnography
Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as required
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Accurately document patient care and progress in a timely manner
