Laboratory Technician – MCG Pharmacology & Toxicology Location: Augusta University – Health Sciences Campus 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912; Summerville Campus 2500 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904.

Job ID: 292735 | Regular | Full‑time | Monday – Friday.

Job Summary Performs entry‑level technical assistance with routine laboratory procedures; requires considerable accuracy in the preparation of all types of laboratory procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist in cell culture, tissue, and data collection.

Assist in mouse breeding colonies.

Assist the Principal Investigator or higher‑level technician with research studies and experiments.

Assist with general lab procedures, maintenance, and cleaning.

Perform all other job‑related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required with laboratory experience.

Preferred Qualifications Cell culture, mouse tissue collection, and molecular cell biology techniques.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge:

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases or willingness to learn.

Skills:

Energetic self‑starter, goal‑focused, and detail‑oriented. Excellent organizational, multi‑tasking, prioritization, problem‑solving, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Abilities:

Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability and willingness to work with animals. Ability to work independently with general supervision.

Shift, Salary & Benefits Shift:

Days; Monday – Friday.

Salary:

$15.00 – $17.98 hourly (Pay Band B1). Salary is commensurate with qualifications within the established range.

Recruitment Period:

Until Filled.

Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates must successfully pass a Background Check review.

Credit check may be required for positions of trust and/or approved departmental purchase card usage.

Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that require driving a university vehicle.

Faculty hires must provide proof of completed academic degree(s) and required coursework; foreign‑trained candidates must provide an educational/credential evaluation.
