Job Summary and Responsibilities The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the department’s requirements and the scope and standards of practice. The RN collaborates with medical providers and the care team, using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, modeling a commitment to the organization’s vision and values.
Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents care in the patient medical record timely and thoroughly.
Teaches patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow‑up measures. Translates complex terminology for complete understanding.
Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families for future self‑management.
Manages evidence‑based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures and enhance care.
Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes recovery.
Qualifications
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Associate Degree or higher.
Either an APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) or an RN (Registered Nurse).
HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is a 204‑bed facility in Palm Beach County offering preventive and elective programs and surgeries. It is a primary stroke center with emergency services, a dedicated New Life Center, a Level II NICU, a full‑service Children’s Hospital, outpatient rehabilitation, an aquatics center, orthopedic spine center, robotics, and interventional radiology. The campus spans 94 acres and is located near Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, and Loxahatchee.
