Job Description American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a SC or compact RN license, two years of experience, and competency in telemetry.
Responsibilities
Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit within an acute care hospital
Patient ratio is typically 1:6-7
Day shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Every other weekend required
No on-call responsibilities
Floating may be required to similar units based on facility needs
Epic EMR is used; prior experience preferred
Royal blue scrubs required
Responsible for providing direct patient care in a Level III trauma setting
First-time travelers will be considered for this position
All time-off requests must be submitted with application and approval is based on facility needs
Local candidates living within a 60-mile radius may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Former permanent employees must be separated from the health system for at least one year to be eligible
Completion of pre-start modules is required
Employees may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June to November)
Free onsite parking is available
Requirements
Active SC or compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required; NIH Stroke Scale preferred
Demonstrated telemetry competency required
Experience in a community hospital setting is preferred
Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
Must provide SSN and driver’s license for consideration
