We are seeking an experienced
Medical Coder
to support inpatient and/or outpatient coding for high-dollar and specialty accounts. This is a fully remote, full-time opportunity with the potential to convert to a permanent role based on performance and business needs. Key Responsibilities
Review clinical documentation and assign accurate
ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT
codes Perform coding for
inpatient and/or outpatient
encounters, including specialty cases Maintain a
coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher Abstract and enter patient, diagnosis, procedure, and physician data into EMR systems Ensure compliance with
ICD-10 and AMA CPT coding guidelines Collaborate with
HIM, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), and clinical teams Support accurate billing and help reduce claim denials Verify patient dispositions and provider documentation Assist with additional coding tasks as assigned by leadership Report directly to the
Regional Coding Manager Required Qualifications
Minimum
2 years of medical coding experience Strong knowledge of
ICD-10-CM, CPT, and ICD-10-PCS Hands‑on experience with
Epic, Cerner, and/or Athena EMR systems High School Diploma (required) Ability to work
full‑time, remote Home office setup with
laptop and two monitors Preferred Qualifications
Coding certification such as
CPC, CCS, or CCS-P Specialty coding experience (Orthopedic / Podiatry preferred) Equal Opportunity Employer
