Job Description
Provides leadership, support, and coordination of unit’s daily operations during designated shift. Assists in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities to ensure patient care and staff needs are met.
Ensures appropriateness of admissions/cases to the unit/department and that appropriate staff skill mix exists to provide safe patient care.
Participates in the interviewing and selection process for new staff. Provide feedback and recommendations regarding current staff performance.
Conducts audits as needed regarding documentation, patient charges, and outcomes. Resolves patient complaints and other issues that could negatively impact patient care. Acts as a liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team.
Monitors supply usage and costs at the unit level to ensure fiscal accountability. Assists management with maintaining staff and department compliance with all regulatory and accreditation agencies.
Qualification Requirements
Associate's of Nursing (Required)
Bachelor's of Nursing
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
Chemotherapy Certificate (CHEMO) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
Electronic Fetal Monitoring Education (EFM) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
Registered Nurse (RN) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
Pay Range $35.04 - $65.17
