PACU RN Job Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
Minimum 2 years of recent PACU RN experience (5 years preferred)
Prior travel nursing experience required
Proficiency with Epic EMR required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (all required)
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (50-mile radius rule)
Experience in a Trauma Level II facility preferred
Skilled in assisting with anesthesia during epidural insertion and post-operative pain management
PACU Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the PACU and pain management unit
Assist anesthesia providers with epidural insertion and manage post-operative pain (epidural/intrathecal)
Operate and manage PCEA pumps and specialized clinical equipment
Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring patient safety and comfort
Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care
Participate in scheduled call and weekend coverage as required
