Description Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a NICU RN. The Waterloo Birth Center offers a Level III NICU with 23 beds, advanced neonatal care, and a family‑centered environment. As a Level III NICU nurse, you will provide specialized, evidence‑based, and outcome‑focused care to critically ill and premature newborns. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care while supervising and coordinating the NICU nursing team.

Shift Night Shift (3 p‑3 a)
Responsibilities • Provide critical neonatal care to infants 28+ weeks gestation and transport patients from smaller hospitals. • Conduct thorough assessments, identify patient needs, and develop goal‑oriented care plans. • Monitor and respond to complex conditions, provide family education, and adjust care plans as needed. • Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and optimal outcomes for vulnerable newborns. • Supervise and coordinate the NICU nursing team, supporting neonates through critical growth stages.
Qualifications • Associate degree required, BSN preferred. • Current Iowa RN license, BLS, Mandatory Reporter, NRP, ALCS. • No prior experience required.
