Title: Therapist / Clinician – School Based
Job Type: Permanent / Direct Hire
Setting: Non‑Profit – Mental Health – School Based
Location: Kansas City, MO
Schedule: Full Time, Monday‑Friday, Daytime hours
The Mental Health Therapist / Clinician will join a trauma‑informed, mission‑driven team supporting children and families in school settings. The School‑Based Therapist provides individual and family therapy to help students overcome behavioral, emotional, and psychological barriers to academic success. This role includes completing clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, collaborating with school staff, and offering care year‑round—including during summer months—via a mix of in‑person and video sessions.
Responsibilities
Provide evidence‑based, trauma‑informed individual and family therapy
Conduct clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
Collaborate with school teams to support student needs
Meet performance benchmarks (average 22 sessions/week)
Coordinate referrals and support holistic care within the community
Participate in teams, trainings, and Sanctuary Model implementation
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology
Missouri licensure or provisional licensure (LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, etc.)
Case management experience a plus
Knowledge of child development, DSM‑V, trauma‑informed care
Valid driver’s license, insurance, and ability to pass background checks
