Requirements
Minimum of eighteen months prior experience in a health care setting as a CT Tech
Must be ARRT (CT) or ASRT certified
Must have licensure as required by most states
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Duties and Responsibilities CT technologists operate CT equipment that produces cross‑sectional images of patients’ bones, organs, and tissue for diagnosis.
Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary
Appropriately set controls of the equipment, monitor equipment and patient, making adjustments as necessary
Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast when applicable
Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans
Assist radiologist with interventional CT procedures
Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure and label appropriately
Schedule patients for procedures and assist with some clerical functions
Charge procedures and supplies used to the patient record
Load and operate power injections for contrast media administration
Deliver quality, cost‑effective patient care in a professional manner
Maintain an environment of excellence, patient focused, providing timely, compassionate, quality care
Promote and maintain a safe work environment for staff and customers, incorporating national patient‑safety initiatives
