Duties
Performs warehouse work involving receiving, storing, and shipping a variety of bin and bulk supplies, material, equipment, and commodities.
Unload, stack, bin, rotate, and mark stock in accordance with standardized operating instructions.
Verifies incoming and outgoing shipping documents.
Uses automated material identification equipment such as bar code, wands, computer terminals, and laser scanners to select storage locations.
Operates hand tools, hand trucks, hand lifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and electric lifts.
Provides world‑class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy and problem solving.
Reports workplace hazards, injuries, or property damage to the immediate supervisor.
Adheres to safety regulations and the principles of the EEO program.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes, basic procedures, and storage areas.
Ability to complete appropriate forms for stock descriptions and labeling requirements.
Proficiency in using a computer terminal and manual dollies, electric lifts, and hand tools.
Ability to identify obvious damage to materials through visual inspections.
Works under guidance of a supervisor and follows written instructions for new operations.
Observes safety procedures for equipment and is subject to periodic spot‑checks.
Physical effort: stands on hard surfaces for extended periods; lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs. independently and over 45 lbs. with assistance.
Will work inside or outside in hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lit areas and will wear issued protective gear.
