Position Highlights The Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities, housed with the Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, invites applications for the position of Lecturer. The primary responsibilities of this position are teaching, broadly defined to include undergraduate and graduate courses as appropriate to the mission of the Sonoran Center and the educational mission of DFCM, the College of Medicine – Tucson and the broader university.

Duties & Responsibilities
Build collaborative relationships within the Sonoran Center with interdisciplinary training staff, DFCM faculty, and community partners.
Be qualified to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses offered by Sonoran Center/DFCM based on academic standing and professional background.
Provide recommendations for new courses for the department and/or teach existing courses based on qualifications.
Restructure existing in‑person courses to online course offerings.
Develop courses related to early intervention, early childhood, and disability.
Collaborate with other faculty and staff on course design and other projects.
Mentor and advise graduate and undergraduate students on their progress.
Engage in assigned teaching activities, including course instruction and guest lectures.
Participate on appropriate Sonoran Center and departmental committees, and professional organization committees as appropriate.
Promote Sonoran Center classes within the university to other academic departments and programs.
Respond timely to student inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications
A graduate degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Professional experience and/or background in the subject matter being taught.
Previous teaching experience at the college level and/or with adult learners.
Preferred Qualifications
Established collaborations with current University of Arizona faculty.
Prior teaching/mentoring experience with undergraduate and/or graduate students in the health sciences.
An active record of scholarship, including an established track record of publishing in peer‑reviewed journals.
Experience in developing college‑level courses from inception to execution.
Compensation & Employment Details Role: Lecturer (Part‑Time) – 4 to 8 hours per week; 0.10–0.20 FTE. Salary: $55,000. Benefits: None. FLSA: Exempt.
