About the Job You were born to be the boss. You get up in the morning and make sure everyone in your house is doing what they need to do. When you go to work you do the same for everyone there – even your boss. This is a tough job that needs a natural leader. You will need judgment, math skills and the ability to multitask to succeed as an Assistant Manager.
Responsibilities
Be responsible for everything that happens during your shift: cost controls, inventory control, cash control and customer relations.
Set the example by following all policy and procedures 100% of the time and expect the same from your crew.
Handle staffing, paperwork, cost controls, cash control, food management, work schedule, perfect image, adherence to standards, great customer service, attendance & punctuality, transportation to/from work, store cleanliness, marketing and profitability.
Operate all equipment, stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, prepare products, receive and process telephone orders, take inventory and complete associated paperwork, and clean equipment and facility on a regular basis.
Communicate effectively: give correct written instructions, converse verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person, enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen, and use navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the delivery area.
Demonstrate essential functions and skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately, make correct monetary change, maintain motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers, and perform tasks while carrying product on the job.
Maintain safety and quality control standards while protecting the store and its customers.
Qualifications
Management experience preferred.
Open availability and reliable vehicle with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
Physical Requirements
Most tasks are performed from a standing position; walking is required for short distances and delays are minimal.
Standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds with a hand truck, carrying large cans, pushing and pulling dollies, and occasional climbing of stairs or ladders.
Stooping, bending, crouching, squatting, and reaching above 72" for tasks such as turning on/off oven controls and changing prices on signs.
Driving required for delivery to customers on a designated delivery area, and for delivering flyers and door hangers.
Exposure to varying temperatures, fumes, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces up to 500° or higher, and sharp edges or moving mechanical parts.
