Fusion Medical Staffing, in partnership with TravelNurseSource, is seeking a qualified Medical‑Surgical (Med/Surg) or Telemetry Registered Nurse for a 12‑week travel assignment in Denison, Iowa (zip 51442). Responsibilities
Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions, documenting changes and reporting concerns.
Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and assist physicians during treatment.
Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical or surgical conditions.
Document comprehensive patient information, including vital signs, medications, treatments, and outcomes.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans.
Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity and clinical needs.
Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed, including hand hygiene and PPE usage.
Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences.
Facilitate discharge planning, coordinating with patients, families, and external resources.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
One year of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience.
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
NIHSS certification.
ACLS (AHA / ARC) certification.
Additional certifications and licenses relevant to the position.
Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking and service excellence.
Proficient communication skills in English.
Ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions.
Proficiency in PC skills.
Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), and maneuver in a clinical setting.
