Qualifications
Read and write English, interact with the general public and co‑workers.
Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
Write simple correspondence.
Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
Desired Skills
Basic PC/Outlook skills.
Retail Management Certificate.
Responsibilities The Service Clerk reports to the Store Manager/Senior Assistant Manager and is responsible for:
Collecting and organizing shopping carts within the store and retrieving them from the parking lot and surrounding areas.
Assisting customers with the loading of merchandise into shopping carts and providing assistance for loading into vehicles.
Checking retail prices on shelves for check‑stand personnel.
Retrieving merchandise from the check‑stand (“go backs”) and returning it to the proper shelf; walking aisles and returning misplaced items to their proper location; facing merchandise on aisles as needed.
Monitoring cleanliness of the store entrance: sweeping front area inside and outside, picking up and emptying trash regularly, mopping outside walkways, and cleaning entrance/exit doors daily.
Monitoring cleanliness of the store throughout the day: sweeping, mopping, cleaning, and restocking restrooms as needed.
