What You Can Expect To Be Doing EDC‑Inc, a division of Haley Ward, is seeking a Preserve Area Maintenance Specialist who enjoys working outdoors and shares a passion for restoring and maintaining natural environments. As a Preserve Area Maintenance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the conservation and restoration of ecosystems throughout the Treasure Coast and beyond in Florida. This position involves hands‑on fieldwork, project execution, quality control, and ensuring the health and sustainability of natural preserves. You will be interfacing with stakeholders such as governmental agencies, HOA boards, private landowners, and developers to assess specific project needs. You will need to communicate ideas clearly and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
Lead subcontractors in executing preserve maintenance and ecosystem restoration projects.
Perform invasive species management, native flora planting, and habitat restoration activities.
Conduct quality control inspections and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Prepare and submit progress reports, tracking project execution, schedule, and costs.
Oversee and manage multiple projects at various stages.
What You Will Need To Succeed
Minimum of three years of experience in a related field.
Degree in Environmental Sciences, Biology, Forestry, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Knowledge of FL Native Plants.
Valid and clean Florida driver’s license.
Florida Pesticide Applicator License (Category 5A and 21) or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Proficient skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite to develop proposals, reports, and communicate daily.
Physical Requirements
Work is primarily conducted outdoors in diverse environments, including wetlands, forests, beaches, and other natural habitats.
Ability to hike and operate off‑road vehicles.

A criminal background check and driving record check will be conducted.
