Student Worker Ambassador
The Blinn College District is searching for a Student Worker Ambassador at our Bryan Campus.
Job Summary The Blinn Ambassador Program is a unique program through which students communicate their enthusiasm about Blinn college. Selection is based on communication skills, academic standing, leadership, composure, responsibility, and availability to perform required tasks as assigned.
Principal Accountabilities Ambassadors provide tours for prospective students and their families, speak to school and civic groups, and assist with advising days and the first week of classes among other daily clerical duties.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum 2.5 GPA (Submit unofficial transcript printed from MyBlinn or High School)
Minimum Competencies
Must be federal work study eligible
Ability to communicate effectively to large groups
Good leadership skills
Sensitive to individuals who require special assistance
Value diversity
Available to work approximately 15 hours per semester
Preferred Qualifications Experience with public speaking and giving presentations to small and large groups.
Special Notes To Applicants Work Hours: Monday - Friday between the hours of 8am - 5pm Scheduled around Blinn Classes, up to 15 hours a week.
They serve approximately fifteen hours per week throughout the semester.
Lifting up to 25 pounds. Walking long distances, in various types of weather, including excessive heat to give tours.
Blinn College or High School Transcript, if applicable
Recommendation letter from a high school teacher or counselor or Blinn faculty or staff member addressing the applicants' communication skills, responsibility, and reliability.
