Job Description
Assumes 24‑hour on‑call responsibility for timely response to organ donor referrals and imports organ offers for local transplant centers.
Provides family support and requests authorization for organ and tissue donation in a sensitive and compassionate manner.
Ensures organs from donors meet CMS, CDC, and OPTN safety standards, including performing required infectious disease tests and accurately labeling and transcribing test results.
Directs hospital physicians and nurses in donor evaluation and management according to policies, collaborating with the Medical Director as needed.
Communicates with team leaders, directors, and medical directors to ensure decisions aim to obtain all possible transplantable organs and tissues.
Qualifications
Associate's of Nursing (Required)
Bachelor's of Nursing
Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Driver's License (DL) – EV Accredited Issuing Bodyli>
Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Licensed Paramedic (PARA) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Physician Assistant (PA) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
Registered Nurse (RN) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – EV Accredited Issuing Body
