Job Description
ABM is hiring Airport Cleaners in our Logan International Airport. The Airport Cleaners are responsible for maintaining and cleaning of the airport facility. This position requires the employee to clean and maintain men’s restrooms, locker rooms, and related facilities, which may involve entering these spaces while they are in use. SALARY | $23.90 to $24.90/hr.
The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
This position requires the employee to clean and maintain men’s restrooms, locker rooms, and related facilities, which may involve entering these spaces while they are in use.
Cleans and maintains airport facilities. Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems
Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities
Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.
Cleans floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Sometimes using ladders, dusts and washes furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixtures.
May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications
Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment
Gathers and empties trash
Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures
Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms
Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
Must keep janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order
Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
May be expected to make basic repairs
Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Physical Demands
The individual may be required to stand, walk, and/or drive for much of their work shift.
Individual may be required to lift to 50 pounds or more for much of the work shift.
Work Environment
The work environment has a moderate noise level.
Language Skills
Candidates must have the ability to understand and communicate clearly/effectively with customers, clients and other employees.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public. Must also possess and utilize effective listening skills.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Qualifications
1-year Janitorial experience
Customer Service Experience
Must be 18 years of age or older
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
