As our

Product Engineer,

you will work cooperatively in a team environment to develop and enhance robust manufacturing processes and tooling to support our products and the company’s growth. This position will provide technical support to the Operations team throughout the manufacturing process in our dry sand foundry. Product Engineers are responsible for driving the New Product Introduction process, continuous improvement, and working directly with our key customers. This position will work to identify root cause problems, generate alternatives, and implement solutions to problems that improve yields, minimize rework, and improve the quality of the product.

What will you do?

Review, direct, and approve pattern designs to ensure dimensional control is in accordance with definition requirements and will be consistently met at the most efficient rate of manufacture

Review, direct, and approve the constituents necessary to achieve metallurgical property requirements which include, but are not limited to; gating methodology, heat treatment parameters, and sand mold attributes

Identify and improve process yields using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, DOE, 6 Sigma, etc.) to uncover variables in the process

Support Sales and Quality personnel in interacting with customers regarding technical characteristics of casting design specifications and methods of manufacturing

Provide technical support to Production Supervisors for the manufacture of castings

Works well in a collaborative environment to accomplish company goals

Routinely audit production lots for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of the results

What will make you a successful candidate?

Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, material science

or related field is preferred

3-5 years previous experience in a Product Engineering role within metal casting or aerospace field

GD&T certification preferred

CAD experience, SolidWorks preferred

Excellent written, verbal & presentation communications skills

Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills

Motivated individual with data driven problem solving techniques
