Warehouse Coordinators verify data and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments, kit assembly, and inventory management. They prepare items for shipment by wrapping and packaging products to protect them during storage and transportation. The role optimizes package size and weight while considering transportation methods, export regulations, and customer and carrier requirements.
Essential Functions
- Operate forklift, pallet jacks, dolly, and other material handling equipment; forklift certification required upon employment. Verify equipment is operating correctly and perform basic maintenance.
- Receive, unwrap, inspect, and store incoming materials; record counts, weights, condition, and storage locations. Document discrepancies and damage; correspond with suppliers and procurement & accounting to resolve damage and shortage issues.
- Package products to protect from damage during transportation and storage; examine shipments to ensure they meet customer requirements and comply with carrier requirements, export regulations, and customs documentation & compliance. Ensure shipping documents are accurate, complete, and packages are adequately labeled.
- Verify accuracy of orders and maintain accurate records of shipments; compare identifying information and counts, weigh, and measure items to verify against bills of lading, customer orders, or other records.
- Complete appropriate paperwork and data entry in ERP or other systems in compliance with internal processes and quality procedures.
- Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies; monitor and communicate expiration date status on applicable inventory and communicate with procurement to avoid stock‑outs.
- Initiate other internal processes as appropriate.
- Scan documents and perform data entry and other administrative support duties as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized, safe work area.
- Follow directions consistently and accept responsibility for actions and work product.
- Comply with applicable manufacturing processes, work procedures, and supervisor instructions.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures; proactively identify job hazards and collaborate with leadership to minimize hazards and ensure employee safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Regular attendance on-site at the work site is required.
Required Education and Work Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- A minimum of one (1) year experience in a warehouse role performing stocking, order picking, and/or packaging is required.
- Forklift experience with a satisfactory record of safe operation is preferred.
- Experience with export compliance and international shipping is preferred.
Other Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and accurately interpret pick tickets, bills of lading, and similar inventory documents.
- Attention to detail and demonstration of accurate counting, measurement, and associated record‑keeping.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills (English).
- Consistently legible handwriting (English).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- ERP experience is preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, stand for long periods to perform job duties.
- Lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 60 pounds.
- Climb steps, stairs, or ladders frequently.
- Bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel frequently.
- Accurately distinguish colors, letters, and numbers.
- Use hands and fingers to manually inspect, lift, rotate, wrap, or otherwise package parts.
- Climb up and down as necessary to board and operate forklift.
- Use visually to gauge distances, recognize and avoid obstacles to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Working Conditions
- Moderate noise.
- Excessive noise; hearing protection required occasionally.
- Dust, smoke, fumes/vapors occasionally.
- Extreme temperatures occasionally.
- Sharp instruments including box cutters, scissors, and other tools used in packaging/shipping.
- Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment.
The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and safety footwear, may be required.
