Administrative Assistant – Stony Brook Orthopaedic Associates, UFPC

Location: Lake Grove, NY

Schedule: Full Time – Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible)

Pay: $21.92 – $27.40 per hour

Summary

This position provides administrative support to the practice and ensures efficient office operation. You will support managers and employees through organization and communication tasks within and outside the department.

Job Duties & Essential Functions

  • Schedule meetings and keep calendars.
  • Answer and direct phone calls.
  • Order supplies.
  • Prepare payment requisitions.
  • Open, sort and distribute mail.
  • Coordinate maintenance of office equipment.
  • Maintain confidential files.
  • Scan and maintain documents and files.
  • Prepare meeting materials and handouts.
  • Assist in day‑to‑day operations of the department.
  • Maintain office environment to ensure productivity.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Required Education & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Three years of administrative/clerical experience.
  • Excellent expressive and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Administrative assistant experience in a healthcare setting.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.
