Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach’s primary responsibility is the coaching and instruction of the strength and conditioning programs for Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, Beach Volleyball, and one additional team. Approximately 80% of the role is dedicated to instruction through weight‑room and classroom training, utilizing video and other teaching techniques. The remaining 20% involves working alongside coaching staffs and performing various administrative duties.
- Assist in the coaching and instruction of student‑athletes in proper techniques and decision‑making in strength and conditioning programs.
- Perform routine daily responsibilities related to the operation of the sports program, such as computer data entry, routine record keeping, and compliance logs required by the NCAA.
- Assist in recruiting acceptable student‑athletes for the UNF athletic program.
- Perform other duties as prescribed by the head coach, which may include clinic participation, scheduling, overseeing equipment needs, and supervising part‑time staff or related functions.
- Adhere to all institution, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Report all known NCAA violations in accordance with institutional, conference, and NCAA policies and guidelines.
- Develop year‑long cycles designed for all UNF athletic teams in conjunction with the goals set forth by the sport coaching staff and Strength and Conditioning Coach. Work directly with the sports medicine staff to develop and monitor rehabilitation programs and post‑rehabilitations of student‑athletes.
Marginal Functions
May assist in other athletic programs as determined by the Athletic Director. Solicit outside income for the Strength and Conditioning program. Attend Osprey Club fund‑raising projects and public speaking engagements at civic clubs to promote the overall athletic program. It is expected of the Athletic Director’s coaches and administrative/support staff to support the activities of sports within the total program by attending scheduled events.
Supervision Exercised
Assist in supervising volunteers, student assistants, and other support personnel.
Supervision Received
Reports to the Head Coach. The incumbent develops procedures for performing a variety of complex duties within established guidelines; has considerable freedom while the work is in process and receives instructions on new assignments.
Required Qualifications
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

The holder of this position is responsible for any NCAA and Atlantic Sun Conference bylaws and guidelines that a member of the UNF Athletic Compliance Department provides in addition to all UNF regulations. The individual must also ensure that NCAA, Conference, and UNF regulations are followed.
