Seasonal Tax Preparer/Accountant – 2026 Tax Season

About the Role

Dominion ELETS Corporation, a small tax firm in Alexandria, VA, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Seasonal Tax Preparer/Accountant to support our team during the 2026 tax season. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional confident in preparing individual and business tax returns and providing client support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual tax returns (Form 1040 and related schedules)
• Prepare business tax returns (Schedule C, Partnerships, S-Corps, basic C-Corps)
• Assist with financial statements and basic bookkeeping review
• Support electronic filing (e-file) processes and ensure compliance
• Communicate with clients to gather missing documentation and answer tax-related questions
• Apply current tax law knowledge to ensure accurate filings
• Maintain organized client files and documentation
• Provide general tax and financial support during peak season

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (additional coursework in accounting or taxation preferred)
• 2+ years of tax preparation experience
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
• Proficiency in tax preparation software (preferably MyTaxPrepOffice)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• CPA, EA, PTIN holder, or E-filer status (a plus)
