Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician / Mechanic

Salary: $28.00-$36.00 per hour (subject to experience).

Responsibilities

• Complete inspections
• Power washing and parts cleaning
• Removal and installation of parts
• Implementation of optional accessories
• Maintenance
• Basic diagnosis and troubleshooting
• Testing
• General repairs
• Upkeep of the service truck
• Responsible for the inventory of onboard parts
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time

Desired Skills And Qualifications

• Three years of previous heavy equipment or over the road (OTR) repair experience
• Excellent mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of engine, power train, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Possess own tools
• Positive attitude and high energy
• Computer programs – Microsoft Outlook, Volvo VCADS
• Language skills – Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Mathematical skills – Basic: Add/subtract two‑digit numbers, multiply/divide with 10’s and 100’s; perform operations with US dollars and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Reasoning ability – Intermediate: Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
