Key Responsibilities

  • Use hand and power tools (e.g., screwdriver, drill, air drill, impact wrench) to repair, replace, or maintain equipment.
  • Receive equipment, document condition, schedule maintenance, and keep accurate service records.
  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles, ensuring efficient and safe fueling and oiling.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
  • Adjust and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices.
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts, fabricate required parts from sheet metal.
  • Safely dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
  • Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in solvent tanks.
  • Weld or solder broken parts and structural members using electric or gas welders and soldering tools.
  • Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Research, order, and maintain parts inventory for services and repairs.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Assist equipment operators in completing daily inspections and enforce safety policies concerning equipment operation.
  • Ensure equipment is ready for the next assignment or job site.
  • Act as a lead and direct other professionals when required.
  • Supervise work of others and provide training, development, and performance management.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Lead or participate in all safety related processes and programs, reporting accidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment and adhere to lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Use effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school graduate with some college experience.
  • Proficient in attention to detail, mechanical skills, and forklift certification.
  • Strong communication (written and oral), data entry, mathematics, and organizing data skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience as a Mechanic, considered an A‑level Technician with strong mechanical knowledge.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing or supervising.
  • Working knowledge of industrial construction equipment, machines, and tools, including design, repair, and maintenance.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
  • Possess all necessary tools.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • Must obtain a Class A CDL within 6 months of hire.
  • Must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record search.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Travel may be required.
  • Work in office, warehouse, laydown yard, and construction project sites.
  • Work in cramped spaces, awkward positions, and extreme temperatures (above 90°F or below 32°F).
  • Expose to dust, wind, snow, rain, bright or low lighting, and significant noise.
  • Work near hazardous equipment and high places.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand, kneel, bend, and move in confined spaces.
  • Perform repetitive movements and use hands to handle tools according to procedures.
  • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, and steel frameworks.
  • Work up to a 12‑hour shift under varying weather and temperature conditions.
