Job Description
- Req#: 3838088 This is skilled work in the operation of large vehicles and public works equipment maintaining Lee County rights of way, canals, and roadways with the Department of Transportation Operations Division.
- Work involves operating various types of equipment or performing semi skilled work tasks incidental to duties performed.
- Haul materials for ditch maintenance operations.
- Operates light equipment to maintain road rights of way such as pickup trucks with trailers, material hauling trucks and dump trucks and/or related equipment.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Perform minor operator related maintenance on related equipment.
- May be required to perform labor duties such as lay sod, shovel and/or raking duties.
- Haul debris to dump site. Haul road maintenance materials to job sites and stock pile operations.
- Occasionally will install pipe.
- Assist in other job duty responsibilities.
- Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent and six months of heavy equipment operation or closely related experience.
- Possession of a valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement and an acceptable driving record is required.
- This is a safety-sensitive position, which is subject to Drug & Alcohol Workplace testing as provided in DOT regulation 49CFR-parts 40 and /or 655.
- The work days and hours for this position are Monday -Thursday 7:00AM - 5:30PM.
