Job Description

Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Hardware Systems Engineering Lead to join our Mission Systems team. In this senior role, you will play a key part in the development of Advanced Processing systems and subsystems, supporting all aspects of hardware development from requirements derivation through product integration. You’ll lead efforts to ensure the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work, ensuring that project deliverables meet cost and schedule commitments. You will also utilize Digital Transformation practices, including model‑based engineering, test automation, and Agile development, to define product capabilities and drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading product development activities and providing technical guidance to a team of engineers, including requirements derivation through product integration for products that include hardware, software, and firmware components.
• Supporting overall organizational process compliance, including the Systems Engineering and Hardware Development Process Implementation.
• Ensuring the technical integrity and completeness of deliverables, and ensuring cost and schedule commitments are met.
• Managing customer interfaces and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Leveraging Digital Transformation tools to enhance development processes.

Desired Skills

• DOD customer experience
• Experience with designing, developing, integrating advanced processing systems
• Experience with DO-254 and/or DO-178 design certification
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to brief technical and program information to internal and external audiences
• Experience working in classified environments
• Drive execution through a Digital Engineering environment, leveraging Model‑Based System Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile approaches
• Experience with DOORS and NextGen DOORS

Work Arrangement

Full‑time onsite in Owego, NY. The selected employee will also have part of the schedule remote (part‑time remote telework) and part onsite; schedule to be discussed during the hiring process.
